Mandy Moore actor, musician, and early 2000s icon, has been betrayed. In a cryptic post shared on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, April 4, Moore opened up about a recent betrayal by someone close to her.

Per Us Weekly, the since expired IG story was posted while Moore was “at work.”

“Dealing with some upsetting personal betrayal stuff from a new person in my life and trying to parse through what to learn from it,” Moore wrote over a photo of herself on a set. “Don’t trust people? Don’t be too generous?”

Moore did not give any specifics about the betrayal—we don’t know how or by whom she was betrayed. But the This Is Us star did say that the “new” person who hurt her was “intimately involved in my life for a short period.” Was it Tom Sandoval? He is an expert at betrayal.

“Man, some people really let you down,” Moore added. “The selfishness and lack of respect and entitlement is WILD.”

Mandy Moore has been married to Dawes lead singer Taylor Goldsmith since 2018, and since she mentioned this person is someone new in her life, it’s unlikely the drama involves their marriage. Moore and Goldsmith have two children together: Gus, who was born in February 2021, and Ozzie, who was born in October 2022.

Before Goldsmith, Moore was married to singer-songwriter Ryan Adams from 2009 to 2016. In 2019, Moore accused Adams of being “psychologically abusive” in an exposé of his behavior published in The New York Times. “Music was a point of control for him,” she told the Times. “He would always tell me, ‘You’re not a real musician, because you don’t play an instrument.’”

Sending good vibes your way, Mandy!
