When news broke that Cameron Diaz was unretiring from acting to costar with Jamie Foxx in a big-budget Netflix flick called Back in Action, movie lovers rejoiced. Must be some script to coax the winemaker back to set! But it seems like Diaz may already be regretting her decision, with multiple reports of on-set chaos.

While shooting in London, Foxx reportedly stopped production and fired four staffers, according to The Sun, just days after firing multiple producers in a “furious rage.” Later it emerged that at least one staffer was involved in some kind of scam and was trying to swindle Foxx out of $40,000. “This film has been a bit of a nightmare,” said a source. “It sounds as though they tried to offer up a Rolex watch as part of the deal, but now there’s an investigation into everything going on. People will be glad when this thing finally wraps.”

Police were apparently called to set, and the scammer in question may have tried this scheme on other stars in the past. Another source later told the outlet, “Jamie has had a major meltdown over it all…. He demanded the problems be sorted immediately and sacked four of the production staff—as if that would magically improve the situation. Some people working on it are totally fed up with how this has played out and Jamie has become pretty unpopular.” Among those axed were an executive producer, assistant director, unit director, and Foxx’s driver.

Not what Diaz signed up for. Noting that she isn’t a fan of “drama and confrontation,” a source close to Diaz told the Daily Mail, “These back-to-back 10-hour workdays have been a lot on her and she hates being away from Raddix…. Cameron loves being a mom more than anything in the world.” Okay, cute PR and I believe she misses her daughter, but come on, she must be pissed her big comeback is a shitshow, right? Sounds like this is not going to kick off a Cameron Diaz–aissance.
