The moment you’ve been waiting for since Olivia Rodrigo dropped her pop-punk breakup album, Sour, is finally here. On April 29, Rodrigo enlisted Avril Lavigne for a rousing duet of her angsty 2002 hit “Complicated.”

Fans went wild on Friday, when the “Brutal” singer surprised them by bringing Lavigne onstage during the Toronto stop of her Sour tour. Rodrigo introduced Lavigne as the woman who “broke down so many barriers and opened so many doors to girls like me,” before revealing her duet partner’s name. “I can’t sing her praises enough,” Rodrigo said in one video shared on Twitter. “She’s from Canada. And I’m so, so, so lucky because she came here tonight to sing with me.” By that point you could hardly hear her say, “Please give it up for Avril Lavigne,” over all the screaming. Chill out, what ya yelling for? (Just kidding—I’d be losing my whole mind.)

From there, the pair rocked out to every millennial’s go-to karaoke track in Y2K plaid-skirt looks. Rodrigo bounced around the stage in a heart-shaped top, fishnets, and knee-high boots while Lavigne wore her classic miniskirt and leather jacket combo with a pair of chunky black ankle boots.

“Olivia Rodrigo and Avril Lavinge are the duo the world needs right now,” one fan tweeted along with a video of the iconic moment.
