Far be it from me to tell anyone at Ticketmaster how to do their job, but if I were in charge of distributing presale access codes for the upcoming Taylor Swift Eras Tour, I would only send out no more than the number of invitations that the servers can handle. Seems like a no-brainer? But not everyone is…a mastermind.

Yesterday, pre-registered “verified fans” found out via email whether or not they’d been invited to the presale. The presale invitation is good for one show only. (Yes, I had a golden ticket.) Last night, on November 14, they got their access codes via text. The way it was supposed to work was that tickets for each show would be available starting at 10 a.m. in whatever time zone the show was in. You had to join a “waiting room” and a queue so that 800 people didn’t all buy the same ticket at the same time.
Of course, right away things got messy. There were massive wait times and glitches on the East Coast….
